A downloadable game
Your guild lives on your desktop
IdleGuild is a small idle guild-management prototype that turns your Windows desktop into the home of a growing fantasy adventurers’ guild.
New adventurers arrive looking for work. Recruit promising candidates, house them in your barracks, equip them, and assemble parties for procedurally generated quests. Your adventurers leave the guild, complete their assignments over time, and return with gold, experience, equipment, and stories of their progress.
The game runs as a transparent desktop overlay. Empty areas remain clickable, allowing the guild to share your screen with your usual desktop activity.

Prototype status
This is a small experimental prototype rather than a finished commercial release.
The primary gameplay loop is implemented, but balancing, content variety, presentation and compatibility still need further testing and refinement. Multi-monitor configurations, unusual display scaling, display reconnection and sleep/wake behaviour may not work consistently.
Feedback and bug reports are welcome.

The current desktop-overlay implementation depends on Windows-specific functionality and Direct3D 11.

Saving
Progress is saved automatically. Save files are stored in Unity’s application data location on your computer.
AI and project disclosure
This prototype was created with AI-assisted code through OpenAI Codex and AI-generated artwork.
It is part of Cloud Architect, a personal rapid-prototyping project in which I challenge myself to turn game concepts I have wanted to explore into playable prototypes within highly constrained timeframes.
I am primarily a game designer. The purpose of these prototypes is to test my design ideas, systems, gameplay loops and ability to turn a concept into a coherent playable experience. They are not intended to present AI-generated code or artwork as a replacement for the work of professional programmers and artists, whose skills and crafts I deeply respect.
Should one of these prototypes gain enough interest to move toward full production, the intention would be to involve human programmers, artists and other developers in building it properly.
